Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil Jones and Alex Scott needed a hand from Tess Daly after their costumes got tangled up together.

The duo raced over to the judges following their dance to Never Tear Us Apart.

And when they arrived at the foot of the panel, the pair looked all confused as they were attached to one another.

Trying to figure out what was going on, the presenter hurried to help the dancers as she tried to laugh off the awkward moment.

‘We have a microphone malfunction, or a sequin malfunction,’ Tess told viewers at home.

After fumbling around and untangling Alex and Neil, the 50-year-old laughed: ‘You’re free!’

Trying to continue her spiel about their performance, Tess was then distracted by another slight faux pas.

Reaching out towards Neil, she informed the professional: ‘You have lipstick on your nose.’

Turning her attention back to fans at home, she said: ‘This happens, it’s live TV.’

Neil quickly wiped his nose with a helping hand from his celeb partner.

Bruno even treated fans to a sing-song (Picture: BBC)

Earlier on in the evening, judge Bruno Tonioli surprised viewers with a rendition of can’t Take My Eyes Off you.

While the professionals graced the ballroom floor, viewers took to Twitter full of confusion over the performance.

But let’s be serious, we all loved it.

‘Go on Bruno,’ one cheered on while someone else said: ‘I don’t care if Bruno can’t sing he’s still a little firecracker.’

Another added: ‘Bruno and ostrich feathers = the apotheosis of camp! 1970s Saturday night tv. Loved it.’
